Music Genre Playlist - 1950s/1960s

When visiting Odile's apartment, as long as her mother isn't there (aka: all the time), you will probably hear this music playing in the background. Odile doesn't listen to modern music - she gave it a try, and found it offensive, regardless of the genre. She sticks to the classics from American culture, mostly in the 1960's, but dipping back into the 50's, and sometimes into the 70's if it's good enough. She is deeply in love with soul and early r&b music, but will often throw in some doo-wop or pop songs on her playlists if she's in the mood - but the way to her heart is through a song by The Four Tops, The Temptations, or The Drifters.
You will never ever hear a song by Elvis, The Beatles, or any sort Beach Boys hit on her playlists - she considers these to be overrated, and not her style at all. While she can appreciate the occasional "hippie"-genre song, she usually avoids those as well. She often states that she wants music with "âme véritable" (true soul) in it, and often remarks to Phascomon that she wishes she could know what it was like to feel something that deep and powerful. Most of the songs on her list are love songs, and being a fifteen year old girl terrified of relationships, that just hasn't happened for her yet. But she hopes that one day that will change. Until then, she has the music to reflect on, and enjoy.
